Position Overview:
We seek a highly skilled and detail-oriented QA/QC Auditor with expertise in electrical systems to ensure the highest quality standards for electrical installations and operations in our data center projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, compliance standards, and industry best practices to support project success.
Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance & Control:
Conduct inspections, audits, and assessments of electrical installations to ensure adherence to project specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
Verify compliance with applicable codes, standards (e.g., NEC, IEC), and regulations.
Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures for electrical systems.
Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare detailed audit and inspection reports, highlighting non-conformities, corrective actions, and recommendations.
Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and audits for compliance documentation.
Review project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and test plans, to ensure alignment with QA/QC requirements.
Short Circuit Coordination Study Management:
Manage and oversee the execution of short circuit coordination studies to ensure electrical systems operate safely and reliably.
Collaborate with engineers and designers to analyze system configurations and validate protective device coordination.
Review and interpret short circuit and coordination study reports to identify potential issues or improvements.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as IEEE, NEC, and NFPA.
Provide recommendations for protective device settings and adjustments based on study results.
Support the integration of short circuit coordination study findings into commissioning and QAQC processes.
Testing & Validation:
Oversee and verify electrical testing processes, including insulation resistance, continuity, grounding, and load testing.
Verify all breakers are the correct amperage and have the proper settings.
Ensure all testing and commissioning activities are documented and meet quality standards.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve quality issues.
Provide guidance and training on QA/QC processes to project teams and subcontractors.
Serve as a point of contact for electrical quality-related matters.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and quality issues related to electrical systems and develop mitigation strategies.
Monitor and ensure compliance with safety protocols during all QA/QC activities.
Preferred Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical QA/QC auditing, preferably in data centers or critical infrastructure.
Certifications:
Relevant QA/QC certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, Certified Quality Auditor).
Electrical certifications/licenses (e.g., Journeyman, Master Electrician, or equivalent) preferred.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, UPS, generators, and switchgear.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
Familiarity with testing equipment and software used for electrical inspections.
Knowledgeable in Procore, Auto Desk Construction Cloud (ACC Build), Cx Alloy, and P6.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for stakeholder engagement.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
