Company Description

Our client is a leader in the wireless communications testing industry. Their clients are some of the most well-known and influential companies in this field, both inside and outside Silicon Valley. They focus on emerging technologies such as GSM/GPRS, EDGE, W-CDMA, LTE, Bluetooth, 802.11x, etc. with test labs in US, Europe and Asia.

The Application Test Engineer will report directly to the Director of Application Testing.

Responsibilities

  • Problem isolation and reporting to company test engineering standards
  • Daily and weekly compilation of various written and verbal reports on the results of testing
  • Implementation and adherence to company test process/procedures.
  • Attend Internal and External Project meetings as required.
  • Assist management in gathering project metric information to improve department/project efficiency.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for various technologies and test methodologies for internal team and client.
  • Provide in-depth analysis and validation of issues found during testing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field plus 2 years relevant work experience or equivalent experience.
  • Experience building and designing test plans and test cases.
  • Experience testing both desktop and client/server software.
  • Experience with data throughput testing and troubleshooting.
  • Must have a clear understanding of the wireless/personal communication development process.
  • Fluency with a wide variety of operating systems (MacOS, Windows, Linux/UNIX)
  • In-depth knowledge of various wireless platforms such as Android, iOS, Windows Mobile, BREW, Java etc.
  • Understanding of the Android application framework and application deployment, including UI, widgets, content providers, sqlite3, networking, IPC mechanisms, multi-threading, services preferred.
  • Solid working knowledge of Android development environment and tools: Eclipse, ADT, ant. Working knowledge of JUnit preferred.
  • The capability of working with minimal supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Must be able to anticipate issues that may change the scope and or schedule of a project and report them immediately to the Project Leads.
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook as well as some database experience such as Microsoft Access. Microsoft Project experience is a plus.
  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills, Detailed Oriented, Analytical, Problem Solving/Troubleshooting skills, Planning and Organizational skills, Flexibility, Creativity, Initiative, Proactive Learner, Customer Service Oriented, Commitment to Task, High Work Quality Standard.
  • Ability to offer root cause analysis of issues found a plus.
  • Familiarity with Diagnostic monitors such as Qualcomm’s QXDM preferred.

Compensation:  60 – 85K
